Reports to: Engineering Manager
Summary:
Provides engineering design support to all Nicholson Regional Offices and Special Projects.
Essential Functions:
Prepares budget level design in competency areas
Prepares bid and final design in all Nicholson techniques
Reviews designs and drawings performed by others
Evaluates test results for understanding, performance and errors
Perform field support as needed, particularly projects that have significant QA/QC and testing initiatives
Supports maintenance of Quality Manual
Supports development of training initiatives
Supports Business Development in promoting Nicholson through participation in client meetings, developing technical papers, and presenting technical seminars
Supports Research and Development initiatives designed to gain competitive advantage
Promotes safety and quality in all design and jobsite activities
Some travel required
Education & Training:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering preferred
Professional Engineer License
OSHA 10-hour safety training
First Aid/CPR
Experience:
Excess of 5 years experience as a Nicholson Design Engineer or in geotechnical/structural design or consulting
Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficient in all Nicholson techniques
Uses technical literature to broaden understanding of concepts and approaches as needed for projects
Competent in use of technical analysis software
Able to balance quality, risk, and cost when providing design information
Proficient with AutoCAD Lite
Physical Requirements:
Reaching high and low, stooping, and bending
Able to lift or move up to 30 pounds if needed
Able to travel per the companies travel policy
Able to concentrate at a high degree in a busy and noisy construction environment
Able to work in all types of weather conditions.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
